SETTING GLOBAL STANDARDS FOR TRUSTED AI CREDENTIALSAI Competence Framework v1.29 · current release

Terms of use

These terms govern the use of this website. They are written outward from the framework licence, not from a template, because the framework exists to be copied and the terms must not say otherwise.

Version 1.29 · effective 30 August 2026 · page last reviewed 30.08.2026

Clause 1 · the licence governs

The framework is licensed for copying, adaptation and commercial use

Site design, code, trademarks and logos are reserved. The AI Competence Framework and all statements, indicators and machine-readable artefacts are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 and may be copied, adapted, translated and used commercially under that licence.

Where these terms and the framework licence conflict, the licence governs.

This clause is first because it is the one that matters. A reader checking whether they may build a course on the framework should not have to reach clause 9 to find out, and should never find a general prohibition on reproduction that the licence contradicts.

Clause 2

What these terms cover

#clause-2

These terms apply to your use of this website and the material published on it. They are between you and AI Certification Standards AB.

They do not vary the framework licence, and where they appear to, clause 1 settles the question in favour of the licence.

Clause 3

Acceptable use of this site

#clause-3

You may read, search, quote, link to, download and archive anything published here, and you may crawl the site at a reasonable rate. Dated framework trees are deliberately left indexable so that an archived specification can be found.

You may not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system, interfere with the availability of the site for others, or represent a mirror or fork of this site as the authoritative source. Nothing in this clause restricts what the framework licence permits you to do with the content once you have it.

Clause 4

No warranty on framework content

#clause-4

The framework is published as a specification for competence. It is provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.

The framework does not constitute legal advice, and holding a conformance claim at any tier does not establish compliance with any law, regulation or regulatory scheme. Anyone telling you that a listing on our register satisfies a regulator is misrepresenting both the register and this clause.

Clause 5

Trademarks and the seal

#clause-5

The name AI Certification Standards, the logos, the wordmarks and the tier seals are reserved and are not covered by the framework licence. The trademark policy states what use is permitted without permission, what requires a licence, and what is never permitted.

You may state accurately that your course or credential references the framework, in the wording published in the policy, without asking us. You may not imply review, approval, accreditation or endorsement that you do not hold.

Clause 6

The register and its entries

#clause-6

Entries on the register record what an organisation has claimed, and at the reviewed tiers what we found at the date shown. They are not a continuing warranty about that organisation.

Anyone may challenge an entry. The outcome is published whether or not the challenge succeeds, and entries are never deleted.

Clause 7

Availability

#clause-7

We aim to keep this site and its dated trees continuously available and to keep every published address resolving permanently. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we will not remove a published statement, notice or register entry in order to simplify the site.

Clause 8

Liability

#clause-8

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on the framework or on this site, including any decision to award, accept or refuse a credential.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Clause 9

Governing law

#clause-9

These terms are governed by the law of Sweden, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction.
